[ he sits in his horse stall, holding a recently bitten into peach. his legs are spread out, one knee half-propped so he can put his hand on it. he stares at the middle distance.

for now, though, he's coming to check on his boy. when he sees the state of him, alfyn frowns - and then sighs, coming into the stall and dropping down next to him. without hesitation, he reaches up to hook his hand around the back of caelus' neck and drags him into a side hug so that he can get caelus' head on his shoulder. ]

[ a split second of tension before he folds into the feeling. thank you, alfyn. it's not like caelus to avoid people, but the emotions be powerful. his chest feels overfull to the point he'd half expect the stellaron to be expanding if it wasn't deactivated by the cult.

some breathing. simply spending that time pressed to alfyn's side. conjuring words, losing them, making up more.

[ even if the stellaron was about to expand, devour, warp, twist, destroy - alfyn would still be right here. he decided on it the moment he took caelus' hands, half serious about checking them but half intending to be there to support him. ]

better eat more peach. alfyn can have some, too, if he wants. it's slightly spicy.

the survivor's guilt is circular, swimming 'round in caelus like a shark. from good memories straight back to questioning himself.

but yeah he's emotionally vulnerable and confident in it so if they have a healthy cry, that's fine.
