Marigolds were often linked to the powerful strength of the sun and represent power, strength, and light that lives inside of a person. The marigold can also represent the connection between life and death. According to Ayurvedic and Unani medicine, the flowers and leaves of marigold have anti-inflammatory, antipyretic, antimicrobial, and antiepileptic effects. Marigolds are generally administered in tinctures, ointments, and infusions to treat wounds for inflammation of the skin and mucous membranes.

There's really not anything in this village that isn't falling apart, huh... we're gonna have to watch our steps in all the buildings, but this one looks a stiff breeze from falling on our heads...
no subject
Seriously. I was thinking this is the biggest building, so it would be nice if could be fixed up a little bit. Like a home base.
no subject
It's pretty defensible looking, right? At least on the outside. If we can get things fixed up it might be more doable, but as-is... eugh.

he looks a little wistful for a moment as he takes his boots off. ] Tressa'd have a thing or two to say about all this...
[ talking to himself, but he shakes it off when he notices ashlyn and shoots a friendly smile over before leveraging himself up once he's shoved his socks into the boots. ]
You know how to swim? Not a lot of people inland, where I'm from, tend to learn how - don't really go far enough to need to. But this kinda view... s'quiet and peaceful, think we could do with it.
no subject
A little. I've been swimming at the pool and stuff. Did you not have... pools?
[ ye oldes... ]
no subject
Probably not in the same sense of what you're used to. Clearbrook had every kinda body of water, though, except the beach. Brooks, streams, rivers, ponds, pools.

... Are you free to talk?
no subject
Yeah, m'good. Mr. Daan patched me up.
no subject
[ she knows that it's kind of rude to come ask for information from someone who's hurt? but doesn't really know how to offer any comfort or help with the hurt part so she's just trying to brush past it awkwardly. ]
So... I wanted to know what happened. In more detail.

but fire casts shadows, and shadows are more inclined towards ensnaring the sacrifices and dragging them into memories this week. at least this one doesn't make him grimace to see. ]
no subject
... What a nice guy.
no subject
... whole reason I am what I am. And that I'm here. [ tired of all this as he is, and COMPLETELY UNAWARE OF THE HELL THAT BRITT PUTS HIM THROUGH LATER, he still gives her a smile. ] Got lucky, for a lot of reasons, considerin' I had to replicate his whole concoction later.

no subject
... yeah, bet it's nothin' good. Never is. [ he reaches back behind himself and unsnaps his axe from the loop on his belt, giving it a deft spin. ] How's your leg doin'?

alfyn pauses a little ways back when he spots her, before he disappears for ten, fifteen minutes. when he returns, it's with a blanket that he drops around her shoulders gently before he drops to sit down near her. still giving space, but just propping his arms on his knees and staring off into the void. ]

and after like an awkwardly long time of just sitting there finally thinks to say: ]
