Marigolds were often linked to the powerful strength of the sun and represent power, strength, and light that lives inside of a person. The marigold can also represent the connection between life and death. According to Ayurvedic and Unani medicine, the flowers and leaves of marigold have anti-inflammatory, antipyretic, antimicrobial, and antiepileptic effects. Marigolds are generally administered in tinctures, ointments, and infusions to treat wounds for inflammation of the skin and mucous membranes.

he looks a little wistful for a moment as he takes his boots off. ] Tressa'd have a thing or two to say about all this...
[ talking to himself, but he shakes it off when he notices ashlyn and shoots a friendly smile over before leveraging himself up once he's shoved his socks into the boots. ]
You know how to swim? Not a lot of people inland, where I'm from, tend to learn how - don't really go far enough to need to. But this kinda view... s'quiet and peaceful, think we could do with it.

A little. I've been swimming at the pool and stuff. Did you not have... pools?
[ ye oldes... ]

Probably not in the same sense of what you're used to. Clearbrook had every kinda body of water, though, except the beach. Brooks, streams, rivers, ponds, pools.

That sounds nice. We're pretty landlocked where I live. But Aiden has a pool at his house.

[ his head tilts a little at the mention of another person, though. ]
Friend of yours? Usually only the rich folk get to have manmade water at their homes. Awfully lucky.

[ the 'yeah' also covers friend. she guesses. whatever. anyway. ]
So you must be happy we can come out here, then.

[ but whatever, anyway. ]
Well. [ ... ] No leeches. So I think we can all agree the water here is superior.

[ BUT WHATEVER, ANYWAY, ]
It's nicer to look at, too. [ rolling waves in the golden hour are a lot nicer than a spooky stream in a haunted village. ]

[ MYEH. ]
None of that awful fog, either. [ he toes into some of the sand, looking down into it before he looks at the waves. ] Food everywhere you look is a nice perk while we've got it.

[ fresh vegetables like to play this trick on me in real life. ]

Mmm, yeah. Gotta eat 'em before they get too brown. Could always sun-dry some of 'em. I'd say picklin' is an option, just, y'know, that kinda needs a brine and jars.

Smart. Maybe someone could ask an overseer for those...?

I'm used to dryin' herbs, so I can probably dry veggies. Just need somethin' smaller than my axe to cut 'em up, but maybe these houses have knives..? [ if we can cook in them ] Overseers should be able to get simple things like that.

... I wonder if it's a good idea to be putting more knives around the village, though.
