These flowers have been symbolic of a hard won success, particularly in artistic endeavors. Giving an artist a bunch of amaryllis flowers is said to encourage both their creative muse and their achievements and strength in the arts. According to scientists, their leaves and bulb contain an alkaloid, a chemical known to exhibit antitumoral, antiviral, antiparasitic, and other healing properties.

[ he peers around her, looking at the plant she's poking at. ]
Like that's a calendula. It's good for burnt skin - but if you feed it to your chickens, it'll make their yolks a darker yellow! You can also cook with it if you wanna. [ it's poor man's saffron. ]

Sounds pretty versatile! [ looking thoughtful... ] Good for burnt skin, huh. Do you grind them into a salve or something similar? Would probably be good to keep on hand, considering the wild trips people have been going on.

I was thinkin' about diggin' some of the plants here up and transportin' 'em over, so this might be one I grab.

Sure wouldn't hurt, considering this place will be gone after Sunday. Might as well grab what you can, while it's all here. And I can help you transport them, if you want. You can even plant them at the barn if you'd like, make a mini farm!
