asa's watching the pyre from a distance, her expression blank. she will tilt her head in alfyn's direction to acknowledge him, but she doesn't really say anything.]

[ he comes over towards her, arms crossed and supporting his elbows as he stares at the pyre - at the containment for aqua, and camille - and just joins her in silence. he smells a bit like the swamp, now, and a little blood, but he doesn't really pay much mind to it.

they get to stand like that for a long, long moment, before he softly speaks up. ]

... both, maybe. If there was a way to split us from the affinity, then there'd be nothin' to afflict. But knockin' us out..? Somethin' calmin', Thursdays? I'm not the plan maker, I'm the medicine guy that hits stuff with an axe - but I don't want to just give up.

It's possible the affliction would override the calming effect, though. And then the people who aren't afflicted would still be drugged and less capable of fighting back.
