[Post-stuff!! Which means that Kanda is calmer now, upon being reunited with his emotional support sword. This will last for only this tag.

He's also in his normal clothes, with his hair tied up in a ponytail. He's got his sword unsheathed in his hand as he stands at the swamp door, because this is the lucky PC that gets to witness The Stuckening. Congrats!!!

Anyway he swings it hard enough and steadily enough that ORDINARILY it would've taken down a tree like this no problem, but obviously that does not happen. Damn.]

alfyn is dressed as well, but a much larger axe is in the loop of his belt than the one sketched in the concept art on the left. he doesn't bother taking it out as he walks with sure, familiar steps across the stones - like someone that's used to this kind of thing - as he makes his way to the island.

and then he blinks as he watches the sword just. thunk. into the bark. ]

Week 1, Thursday

But by now Kanda probably?? Knows something happened?? Imagine if none of my other PCs pull through that would be funny. But for now it means that even though Kanda won't come find Alfyn (of course), he does stop to look him over when they cross paths? Are you alive sir.]

alfyn blinks at him when he sees him just. look him over. but he stands up straighter despite being sore, showing that his clothes have been changed, and that there's some stitching in his brow and cheek along with treatment of his visible wounds.

Kanda doesn't do that, he just seems to be making sure that Alfyn isn't actively bleeding out and is satisfied when he's not. Exorcists fight half-dead all the time this is no big deal.]

[ yeah this is not actually the worst that he's ever had. he has a skill called hang tough that lets him survive a death blow with 1 HP so he's chillin' ]

Kanda will do his absolute best to stay away from everyone this week, but there are only so many places he can go. Eventually, he'll have to cross paths with Alfyn, and into the void they go... Part 1 + Part 2, with a short time skip in between. Early DGM art you were doing your very best.]

god hoshino's really grown since these early chapters... i almost forgot about lala it's been so long. alfyn is less hesitant to cross paths with people during all of this, but he startles with this sudden memory.

and, probably predictably, he just looks... sad, for this doll. sympathetic, for allen. even without knowing the full story. ]

... figure I'm probably a sucker here, too, huh.

Anyway--this one, at least, doesn't bother Kanda too much. Things have changed a lot since then, and his relationship with Allen is... not better, but different, but the core sentiments here are still the same. Allen will still throw himself on a sword for others without a second thought; Kanda will still make the hard decisions and give voice to the unpleasant realities.]

You're just going to suffer more here, if you are.

Week 2, Sunday

[Hello!! Kanda is alive... tragic. If Alfyn comes looking for him it'll probably be easiest to find him in the house, otherwise he'll be out by the pyre at some point. His exorcist coat is off but nearby, and he's heavily bandaged under his shirt! He looks pretty deep in thought whenever Alfyn finds him, so Alfyn will have to call out first.]
