SCAWWY 😱 aventurine

The green orchid symbolizes nature, harmony, and rejuvenation. It is thought that green orchids bring good health and fortune into the home. Although some orchids have been documented as potential medicinal plants they are widely known for their ornamental value. However, orchids have been used as a source of medicine for millennia to treat different diseases and ailments including tuberculosis, paralysis, stomach disorders, chest pain, arthritis, syphilis, jaundice, cholera, acidity, eczema, tumour, piles, boils, inflammations, menstrual disorder, spermatorrhea, leucoderma, diahorrhea, muscular pain, blood dysentery, hepatitis, dyspepsia, bone fractures, rheumatism, asthma, malaria, earache, sexually transmitted diseases, wounds, and sores.

... less weird than the place with the coffins, I guess. [ although he freezes when he sees a rat pop out of the straw, eyeballing it warily until he relaxes at seeing that it's not. sentient. or very big. ] Man, it's just us and rats, isn't it. Where is everybody?

So here he is, dressed in his actual clothes and not an ugly robe, suddenly standing next to Alfyn as he peers into the barn. ]
Could they have turned into the rats?
[ HELLO. ]
no subject
... sure as heck hope not. There's demihumans back home that're ratkins, but they're always ratkins. Not. People turned into them.
[ WOULD THEY GET TURNED INTO RATS TOO? ]
no subject
[ RATKINS? That sounds all kinds of wild. ]
If they don't turn into rats, does that mean they have rat-like features?
no subject
[ alfyn rubs his chest to soothe his heart. ]
Yeah, they do. They can walk around on two legs like people, or scamper around, and they're like... most of the common ones are the size of kids, but they can get real big, too.

[ Ratkins... He will remember this. In the meantime, Aventurine looks back into the barn, one hand settling against his hip as he tilts his head to the side. ]
Doesn't seem like anyone has lived in this town for quite some time. Practically everything's in disrepair.

[ but alfyn shifts his weight to look in as well, peering up into the roof to see if it's sturdy. ]
The theater looks like it's gonna drop under a single step, but at least this place looks a little more sturdy. Still not great.

Looking to retire here for the long night ahead?
no subject
Dunno yet - wouldn't be the worst place I've shacked up, but I'm more just trying to understand what we're working with, y'know? See if getting eyes on things with everybody will help us out any.
no subject
[ These are no conditions for a rich man. ]
I don't have anything I can offer at the moment. But I can join in on your efforts.
no subject
You'd just have to share with the current residents. [ gesturing over his shoulder with a jerk of his thumb towards where the whack-a-mole rats are in the hay. poor rich man. ] Still, company helps in this creepy place, I figure? Better than any of us being alone.
So, my name's Alfyn. Good to meet you, even in, well, the current situation.
no subject
[ Imagine staying in this barn with the rats... Imagine... Looks into the future. ]
The current situation isn't as bad as I'd initially feared. The people here... they're all quite inspiring.
no subject
[ smash cut to aventurine slowly picking hay out of his hair every morning. ]
I think we're all, mostly, just trying to make the best of it? And looking for what we can do with the situation. Can't really give up when we haven't even been here long.
no subject
Looks like I've met another one.
no subject
[ oblivious. there's so many optimists here it's so bad for them. ]
no subject
[ heeheehoho ]
I've taken up enough of your time, Mr. Alfyn. I'll leave you be for now, but don't be stranger, okay?
