SCAWWY 😱 daan

If you wish to say "I will always love you," send an orchid. Express your sympathy with a pink, purple or white orchid plant. Purple orchids are often seen as symbols of royalty and wealth. They can also be used to express admiration, respect, or dignity. Dried dendrobium is believed to possess medicinal properties that can help treat cancer, strengthen the immune system, and improve eyesight. It is said to be effective in curing sore throat, digestive problems, diarrhea, and gum disease.

Oh, did they..? I mean, there's forty of us...
[ his sleeves the way they are, they stop partway down and expose his forearms for the dark god and everyone to see. the ink most visible is saving him, but he is resolutely looking at daan's face rather than anywhere else. ]
Famine made a kinda dismissive comment to me yesterday, "make a clinic for all I care," more or less. A good handful of people have been giving me their robes, and I've been working on making them into bandages... and I was planning on talking to Death about seeing if I can't maybe have some plants every now and then from the garden.
So... I was wondering if maybe you would like to figure out a clinic with me, as a fellow healer? Apparently there's monsters out there, nevermind cultists, so it might be worth doing as a just in case kinda thing.

Doubly funny that Daan's face has very little real estate with how his bangs hang and then the literal eyepatch, which is fresh btw. He got a new one. The ink probably does try to bitchily try to sneak words on there but it just kind of comes off as black lines bleeding out from under the patch. Creepy, but not yet too-exposing. ]
...
We do have a number of people who are capable, so to speak. You're an apothecary, so I've been told -- Ishtar is familiar with physician work, and Lavi is also handy with some level of emergency fieldwork and acupuncture, so I've been told. Death also claims to be a doctor themselves, although I don't imagine we will be able to regularly rely on them for help.
...
It does seem like we could have a manner of functioning clinic going on, doesn't it? And not burn out while at it.
You've gotten confirmation that there are monsters?

the lack of real estate doesn't seem to bother him - considering his castmate tbh - and he also respectfully does not perceive the way the ink is trying to permeate through to be witnessed. ]
Since the, uh, horsemen? I guess is what they're called? Are probably focusing on how to get us out of the whole sacrifice situation, yeah... I think it's more likely we're relying on us more than them, even if maybe Death wouldn't mind sharing some resources.
But it's good to have so many people that can help lighten the load if we wind up with injured. I just spoke to Lavi earlier, and I'll have to follow up with Miss Ishtar. [ her... highness? lady ishtar? not sure, considering the ruling a country thing. ] As for the monsters, it's not a full confirmation, I don't think.
The implications with us, definitely... with all that winds up entailing, with our partners or whatever it is we're meant to be doing, there. But a few people I've talked to seem to think that there's a chance of monsters otherwise. I'll ask Death when I talk to them just to make sure.

[ Though there Is a distinct lack of horses... Crowmen of the apocalyse? ]
I don't personally trust that our handy "rulebook" would so casually name the possibility of tied deaths if it weren't a concern.
Probably a part of the entire ritual, to be honest...
Let's hope nobody is eager to start trying and participating.
...
Guess we could use the outhouses...?

... I'm the optimistic sort, but I can't really ignore that kinda thing, either. [ unfortunately. ] I haven't thought too much about finding my partner right away, considering, though what with I can do it might be handier to be stronger, just to see if it can't net more stuff for us as a makeshift community can use.
[ a small grimace curls at his expression, with the idea of other people being eager to participate. he's really hoping not. ]
The. Outhouses? I guess, if we made sure they were sanitary. At least clean one up and use it for storing supplies if nothing else?

Unfortunately, it seems that someone is extremely keen on trying to disrupt things and put leeches wherever they can reach. Of course, I wouldn't recommend just leaving them in there, but behind the cabin or outhouses might be a more conspicuous place that's less likely to see grief.
[ Just puts this on the leech whisperer instead, this makes enough sense I think. ]
We're lacking pretty badly in space.
no subject
The... [ he can't help but sigh ] Gods, yeah, I'm worried about where all leeches are going to wind up at this rate. Wasn't bad enough that we had to go get our stuff out of leech-infested waters, huh?
[ but alfyn nods as he considers. ]
It's all pretty confined inside the fog, but I guess we just have to work with what we've got. Borrowing an outhouse, or even using some of the stuff from - I dunno, the theater, 'cause we have a lot of broken benches that can be repurposed for wood, we can probably set something up.
Can hope nobody would mess with medical supplies, but.

Only fortunate nobody's developed a fever or anything like that yet, but I could be inviting a jinx by saying that.
I think the floorboards in some places are a little bit loose, too... if there's anything we'd like to store, but keep it accessible to a few we trust to handle things right.

A few of the flowers in my flower crown were medicinal, so I've been working on drying them out and saving them. Couple for fevers... hopefully we won't need 'em right away.
I think that might be a good idea, though... repair some floors, make some storage. We're here for a bit, might as well make it easier for us. I'm sure we can figure out the people we can trust to it real quick.

[ That's good to hear. ]
Hopefully not, but given the unfortunate abundance of leeches, it's good to have just in case...
[ He sticks a hand in his pocket, staring out at the camp. ]
We're really committed to trying to make this place livable, huh.
