SCAWWY 😱 camille

Dandelions are known for their ability to thrive in challenging conditions, pushing through concrete and returning year after year. This resilience has made them a powerful symbol of strength, determination, and the ability to overcome adversity. Although often dismissed as a stubborn lawn weed, people have used dandelion in forms of traditional medicine for centuries. Not only can the leaves, roots, and flowers add color to your plate, but they’re also often found in herbal teas and supplements, where they’re used as a natural remedy to support blood sugar management and boost skin, liver, and heart health.

[The reaction is more measured gaping. Camille has a decent pokerface sometimes. This place has knocked the credential clear off her resume. Her eyes flick to the cut, to his downcast eyes.]

Christ, I...months? You were really gone for months?

[Completely Rip van Winkled. Holy hell.]

Well it sure doesn't sound like summer vacation. I don't know how you're still sitting here if it was...god. Like an army of us? All dead, all fighting you?

[What for? What possible purpose would it serve?]

[They're going on a memshare trip in the siderooms, help me

What she really ought to do is lock herself up for the week. Any time she meets another captive she's dunked head first into their dark past, like someone's trying to drown her in a toilet bowl.

This one is a mix. There is the warmth of friendship, quite a steady stream of calm. The doubt mounts though, and it's slowly becoming clear that the man he nobly rescued may not be worth the effort to save him. Lofty morals are easier to uphold when there's more laws in place, stricter watches, better tracking. This is a feudal space though, and people are quick to turn to a knife when the chips are down. Alfyn means well. More's the pity for him when pessimism proves triumphant.

Feeling the axe sink into Miguel's neck, though. She drops out of the vision with her hands aloft, perched on an invisible handle. She's sweating, shaking.

She hates the ones where she's made to kill the most.]

...Alfyn. [Her eyes close and she swallows, straightening. Wiping the sweat from her palms on her jeans.] I'm sorry.

[She takes the bump gamely. Everyone's in a cuddly mood this week, and at least he's in a sweet enough spirit to give it. The other three, not so much.]

It sounds like an adventure story. [Or a horror movie.] Even for this place, I wouldn't believe it if it weren't for how shit you all looked coming back.

[Geto...She'll have to track him down as soon as possible. Kid's been through enough as is.]

You beat it, though. You took her down, for good. Right? She's not coming back for any of you?

[personal profile] scrapdraught 2024-06-30 02:23 am (UTC)(link)
[Hm.]

What would you like to know?

[personal profile] scrapdraught 2024-06-30 02:53 am (UTC)(link)
[Still Geto'd]

There was something of a plan. We didn't know who would be joining us.

[ty for your understanding and support.]

No.

[a beat.]

Cloud just picked up the drink. That's all.

[The image flips for a moment. Brief. Slate blue eyes bore into Alfyn, utterly still.]

[And then the face he knows comes back. Downcast. Lip trembling.]

It was too easy.

[She sounds anything but proud.]

Neither did he.

[Her sigh is long. Ragged.]

I wasn't...I still don't feel like myself.

WEEK 3: Monday

[They can be in the library too. We're done being sad as fuck (for now.)

At one point during their quiet library session Camille gently picks up Alfyn's arm

and bites into his hand.]

[The way I did this before bite rule was announced.

Anyway she blinks up at him. Backtracks.]

Oh my god. [Pulling back a little, mortified. WHY] I'm sorry?

Forget it, I don't know what happened there.

WEEK 4: Tuesday

[laying down across a bench at their precious theatre, Camille's just staring at the ceiling and feeling along her new scar.]

...And I'm the only one who came back?

[She tenses up — wasn't expecting such a tender gesture. Figures Alfyn can't turn off the caretaker in him even for a second. Like her mother, with reversed intentions.

But she lets it happen. She's exhausted. And she doesn't want to make more fuss. The less attention, the better.]

I suppose. [Thank is a strong word. Camille can't sort out how she feels.] I don't know that it's fair, though. If he had a choice.

[Why pick her?]
